The Cardinal Tetra Paracheirodon axelrodi is a spectacular fish and one of the most popular aquarium fish of all time. It is very charming in appearance and behavior. This serene yet gregarious fish needs to be kept in a school. A group of these flashing tetras will make a brilliant display in any aquarium. These cardinals are between XL and Jumbo sizes. They are between 1 and 1.25″ in length.
Cardinal tetras’ life span is about 10 years. They are from South America. They are peaceful and could be a good tank mates for other peaceful species. You can feed cardinal tetras with brine shrimp, blood worms etc. It is hard to breed them. You need soft acidic water. Also, you need to sterilize the tank. If you accomplish to breed them, we suggest to keep eggs and fry separate. They can be eaten.
