Tiger Shovel Nose catfish are a great pet for any monster fish keeper. The Tiger Shovelnose Catfish, which is otherwise called the Tiger Catfish, is from the streams and tributaries of South America. The body of this feline is long and slim and has an excellent silver hue. Dark stripes and spots spread the whole body, giving this fish a tiger-like appearance. The mouth is decorated with long stubbles, and is long and level fit as a fiddle.

It can become stunningly enormous in an aquarium setting and ought to be given a lot of space to swim. Because of its size and high vitality this fish ought to be kept with bigger tank mates. Other than the base tank size of 180 gallons, rocks, plants, and enormous driftwood ought to be utilized to upgrade and recreate an indigenous habitat. Since the Tiger Shovelnose Catfish is an exceptionally dynamic fish, a firmly secured aquarium ought to be utilized to keep it from hopping out of the tank.

Little is thought about the rearing propensities for the Tiger Shovelnose Catfish, however it is estimated that the females have a more full stomach and by and large shape.

Bolstering the Tiger Shovelnose Catfish isn’t troublesome because of the way that it’s anything but a meticulous eater. In the wild, this fish will eat fish and shellfish. In the aquarium setting, grouped worms, solidified sustenances, sinking catfish pellets, and dry nourishments will give the best possible sustenance. It ought not be kept with fish that can fit in its mouth, as it will gulp down them. Most catfish proprietors keep up an eating regimen of feeder fish, and in the end goldfish when they arrive at a bigger size. Tiger Shovelnose Catfish may hop out of the tank, so you should keep the aquarium secured. They are dynamic more often than not.

This fish can develop to well more than 30 inches.

Our Catfish are 3″- 4″ inches.

I bought one of these 3″ long TSN about 6 weeks ago.
Beautiful fish and it has more than doubled in size. And the head has easily quadrupled in size.

An amazing and beautiful fish. It’s grown from 3in to almost a foot in the 9 months sense i have had it.
It’s nocturnal so I see mine rarely in the day but it follows my fingers at night, with lights on and is a very personable fish.
I keep mine with an arowana I got at about 3in at the same time and they seem to be growing at a similar, super fast, rate. It seems to get along well with the arowana, silver dollars and some larger American cichlids.
It’s a showpiece fish. make sure you’ve got a big aquarium but I’m certainly not disappointed in my tiger shovelnose catfish.
